I love science fiction films, books, stories -- pretty much everything. But there's a lot of bad, cheesy, and otherwise unwatchable scifi out there. It's a shame, because it gives the good stuff a bad name.

Prices on the Internet aren't what they used to be



When Amazon.com first launched, they sold items for below cost and yet their stock just soared. People joked they made up for the loss with volume. Of course, people knew (or should have known) that that wasn't sustainable and prices would have to go up to a point were they were making money on each transaction. But it was nice while it lasted.

Public School Explained


When I was in school, I was very frustrated by how inefficient the system seemed to be. Then someone told me that reading, writing, and 'rithmetic weren't the main things you were learning, but social skills and dealing with others were. After graduating and working at several jobs, I realized that people skills are vital to success in the real world, and dealing with the politics and nonsense in school helps you prepare to deal with the politics and nonsense at work.
