Why indeed

I always find it disturbing how the experts have so much good advice for my life but never seem to apply it to their own.

Pay someone to do it yourself

I've never understood why I bother to pay a teacher to tell me to read a book and figure it out myself. Since finishing school, I've learned a lot more and paid a lot less by going straight to the book and cutting out the middle man.

Sympathy

People have different ways of sympathizing. And teachers that are honest tend to be the bad guys.

The big picture

School projects have been known to get out of hand. Some people take somethings a little too seriously.

I can't believe I paid 3 bucks for that

I've felt like that after more than a few movies.

Free vs. Paid

I had a roommate who threw a party for his relatives the night before his sister's wedding, and he charged them to get in after they traveled all the way to Phoenix to attend the wedding. And the crazy thing is they paid and thought nothing of it.

Those who fail to plan ...

My sister has a saying: "Those who plan, plan to fail." That one seems to be truer and more accurately describe real life than the other saying.

I almost feel bad about pirating movies

When Napster first came out, I thought it was the coolest thing to get all the free music one wanted. Then Apple figured out how to create an honest system with consumers still having convenient access to a giant library and those creating the music to still get paid, and I actually find that route better. Like Steve Jobs said, good karma.

Elected officials don't keep their promises, and they get paid

Sad, but true.
