How many times have I heard someone say something and then act surprised or become furious when you took them at their word. People really need to think before they speak.

When I was in school, I was very frustrated by how inefficient the system seemed to be. Then someone told me that reading, writing, and 'rithmetic weren't the main things you were learning, but social skills and dealing with others were. After graduating and working at several jobs, I realized that people skills are vital to success in the real world, and dealing with the politics and nonsense in school helps you prepare to deal with the politics and nonsense at work.
